Corrective Environmental Management Instruments aim to enable administrators with ongoing activities to adapt their operations to comply with environmental regulations. Industrial companies dedicated to the manufacture of ceramic coatings and similar activities, having achieved Environmental Certification, have faced a new challenge during the Environmental Supervision processes by the Organismo de Evaluación y Fiscalización Ambiental (OEFA); The Environmental Management Adaptation Programs (PAMAs) and Preliminary Environmental Diagnosis (DAP) have been found to contain deficiencies in the declared information, which has been reflected in administrative sanctioning procedures (PAS). This study identified the deficiencies existing in environmental regulations as well as in the approved corrective Environmental Management Instruments. By developing a comparative table of the existing Terms of Reference (TdRs), an analysis of the similarities and differences among them was conducted. To understand the non-compliances, information from the Register of Sanctioned Environmental Offenders by OEFA - RUIAS was collected, developing two (02) cases of fines imposed on the administrator for non-compliance with activities, components, and/or undeclared equipment. The experience obtained in updating a PAMA was described, specifying criteria to consider for developing an IGA capable of reducing the contingency against administrative sanctions. Finally, this professional proficiency work proposes a scheme for the TdR for the Updates of Corrective Instruments since there is currently no official document for their preparation. The updates are developed at the discretion of the consultants and administrators, using references applied to other types of IGA, or, in other cases, the only option remains to directly consult the competent entity to request a reference scheme to use.
