This investigation details the reasons why the extension of the working day, particularly in the case of security workers excluded from the ordinary eight-hour day, represents a violation of their human rights, and therefore must be regulated. In the course of this study, a fundamental problem is identified: the lack of limits on the extension of the working day. This raises crucial questions, such as: Can a security worker choose to work for 12, 16, 18 or even 24 consecutive hours? And would it be reasonable to allow these excessive hours? To carry out this research, the documentary analysis technique was used, having as a reference that the interpretive paradigm with a qualitative approach has been used, since we are based on the reality that we perceive. Finally, the results of this research are aimed at highlighting the need for regulation that adjusts to reality, which leads to the modification of regulations related to working time and days considered intermittent.
