The objective of this research is to evaluate the impact of public spending per student in secondary education on GDP per capita in the natural regions of Peru. Control variables such as activity rate, spending on infrastructure and equipment, and internet access at the secondary level are used. Using data from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Education, INEI and the World Bank, the diversity of needs among the country's natural regions is highlighted. The hypothesis posed holds that a significant increase in educational spending will positively influence regional economic growth, given that investment in education not only stimulates aggregate demand, but also improves human capital and, therefore, productivity and innovation capacity. The theoretical relationship between higher public spending on education and the potentially improved academic performance of students is also highlighted.
