The transit time of fresh blueberries for export is between 30 - 45 days and during that time the berry decreases its useful life, therefore the need arises to use post-harvest technologies for greater conservation. With the objective of evaluating the use of bags and/or controlled atmospheres for the shipment of blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) to Europe and the USA, a test was carried out at origin (packing plant) evaluating the weight loss after cooling to at 15, 30 and 45 days with three treatments (bagless, 0.9% perforated high-density polyethylene ventilated bag and non-perforated polyamide bags). Differentiated tests were carried out by destination, taking into account the transit time and regulation of the health authorities. For the trial in Europe, two treatments were carried out (with 0.9% perforated polyethylene bag and bags without perforation) and for the USA three treatments (controlled atmosphere, 0.9% perforated high-density polyethylene bags and the combination of both), evaluating the loss of weight, texture and postharvest parameters (soft, dehydrated and rotten fruits). In the evaluation at origin, it was obtained that weight loss decreased significantly when using bags without perforation (p≤0.05). In the case of Europe, the use of bags without perforation had better results compared to the use of 0.9% perforated bags, to avoid dehydration and rotting; On the other hand, regarding the texture and softness, no significant difference was observed between both treatments. For shipments to the USA, significant differences were found between the use of 0.9% perforated bags and controlled atmosphere; but there is no significant difference between the use of 0.9% perforated bags and the combined use of perforated bags plus controlled atmosphere; the best option was only the use of 0.9% perforated bags.
