This correlational study aimed to investigate the possible relationship between the use of Blackboard Collaborate platform and academic engagement of students in level 1 math courses in the Faculties of Communications, Business, and Engineering at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas in 2023. A cluster sample of 156 students was selected and a questionnaire was administered to evaluate their satisfaction with the platform and academic engagement. Hypothesis tests were conducted to explore the correlation between platform usage and academic engagement at a general level across all three faculties, as well as within each faculty separately. The results showed a significant direct correlation with a moderate effect size between satisfaction with Blackboard Collaborate platform usage and academic engagement at a general level in students from all three faculties, as well as in the faculties of Business and Engineering. However, no correlation was found between these variables in the Faculty of Communications. These findings suggest that the relationship between these variables may depend on specific factors in each group of students and the relevance of the platform in course delivery. In conclusion, the results obtained can be useful in implementing more effective pedagogical strategies and improving student satisfaction with the platform, although additional studies are needed to further investigate the possible causes of the differences found.
