The goals of this study were to determine the risk factors that predict the presence of Eating Disorders (ED) in a group of 218 female adolescents between the ages of 12 and 18 (M = 15, SD = 1.33), all of them students. from a public educational institution in Metropolitan Lima. For this, two assessment tools were used, the Eating Attitudes Test scale (EAT - 26) and the Eating Disorder Inventory scale (EDI - 3). The results showed that there are 3 factors that predict future eating disorders to a greater extent, among which are Obsession with Thinness (DT), Bulimic Behaviors (B) and Asceticism (AS); while those that predict the appearance of the condition to a lesser extent are Fear of Maturity (FM) and Emotional Maladjustment (EM). These factors are related to characteristics of the developmental stage of adolescents and the challenges they face at a social and personal level during these ages. This is how this study aims to generate points of attention in preventive programs that allow the reduction of the tendency to suffer eating disorders in female adolescents.
