The exports of the Loreto region by product group are divided into two: traditional products and non-traditional products. Traditional products are those that have little or no added value and that have been exported historically; On the other hand, non-traditional products have added value and a better price in the market. To this must be added that the export basket of the Loreto region is composed of few products. The objective of this research is to analyze the export structure of the Loreto region by product group, in the period 2012-2016. For this purpose, the present investigation of descriptive and non-experimental design was carried out, analyzing the exports of traditional and non-traditional products. Exports of the Loreto region in the period 2012-2016 amounted to US $ 212,759,699.15; corresponding to the export of traditional products the sum of US $ 41,005,145.64 equivalents to 19.27% of the total. Likewise, exports of non-traditional products totaled US $ 171,754,553.51; meaning 80.73% of the total value. In the group of traditional exports, the item "Fuels" was the one that contributed the highest value with the figure of US $ 33,552,096.22 representing 81.82%. The other products in this group were "Crude Oil" (7.84%), and "Other Products" (10.34%). On the side of non-traditional exports, these were made up of: forest products (55.12%), fishery products (10.24%), agro-industrial products (4.34%); other products (12.86%), and the rest of products (17.42%). In this group, exports of "Sawn Wood" were the most significant, amounting to US $ 79,400,980.29 and representing 46.23% of the total value. By way of conclusion, it can be mentioned that exports from the Loreto region are strongly concentrated in a few products, few companies and few countries of destination, a situation that makes them vulnerable and very susceptible to changes in the market and environment, which cannot be postponed. a diversification policy and strategy. On the other hand, since 2014, the oil industry has entered into a crisis due to the fall in international prices and political instability with the concessionaires of the oil lots in the Amazon. Likewise, the timber industry was also affected by the entry into force of the new Forestry and Wildlife Law, which frontally attacks the illegality of the sector.
