This research work was carried out in the “San Miguel” farm, located in the Cachiyacu river basin, Balsapuerto district, Alto Amazonas province; with the purpose of determining the influence of kudzú (Pueraria phaseoloides) and maralfalfa (Pennisetum sp) on the productive indices (food consumption, weight gain and food conversion) of guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus) in the breeding stage, using 36 guinea pigs weaned males from 21 days (breeding stage) of the Peru, Andean and Inti breeds of type I and A, from the National Agrarian University La Molina - Lima, distributed in a Completely Random Design, with three treatments and four repetitions (3 units per repetition in each treatment). The treatments were: T1: 100% kudzu, T2: 100% maralfalfa and T3: 50% kudzu + 50% maralfalfa; evaluated in a period of 8 weeks, finding the following results: regarding food consumption, values for 23.23, 23.16 and 24.57 g / day were obtained for T1, T2 and T3. Correspondingly presenting highly significant statistical differences (P <0.01) between T3 and T2 and T1. In relation to the increase in weight they were 348.75 (6.23 g/day), 355.00 (6.34 g/day) and 406.25 (7.25 g/day) g, for T1, T2 and T3 respectively with statistical differences (P <0.01) of T3 with respect to T2 and T1. Regarding the food conversion, the results obtained were T1: 12.83, T2: 12.68 and T3: 11.73, no statistical differences (P >0.01) were found between treatments even though a lower value was observed with T3.
