Introduction: The evaluation of the quality of life in hemodialysis patients is based on the perception of the quality of life, the impact of the disease and/or treatment within its own parameters; it is being increasingly considered as an indicator of the quality of health services; the instruments created to help measure this indicator have been transformed into research tools to evaluate the different spheres that would be affected in the patients, since due to the increased survival of the patients, they are more exposed to complications that may diminish their quality of life Objective of the study: To evaluate the quality of life of patients undergoing Hemodialysis at the Regional Hospital of Loreto 2016-2018. Materials and methods: An observational, retrospective, transverse and analytical study was developed. The STALCALC of Epi info 7.2.2.16 was used to calculate the sample size. The STALCALC of Epi info 7.2.2.16 was made up of 76 patients and only 62 met the inclusion criteria. The following instruments were used: "Sociodemographic and medical-clinical characteristics survey" and the "KDQOL-SF TM version 1.3 Questionnaire". Information processing was carried out with the statistical software Epi info version 7.2.2.16. Results: Of the 62 patients, the median age was 54 years, with an average of 3 children, most of them married and cohabiting, heads of household, live accompanied, have basic services, 83.9% do not currently work, live near the dialysis center, the most used vascular access was the permanent central venous catheter, were more than 1 year on dialysis, with 1 to 2 hospitalizations during the previous year. In the generic category of KDQOL-SF TM version 1.3 the lowest averages were for physical role, emotional role, social function and emotional well-being; while for the specific category were sexual function, renal disease burden and sleep. The overall quality of life rating was poor in 71% of the patients and was statistically associated with being male and not working. Conclusions: It was concluded that hemodialysis patients are exposed to a series of sources of stress, generating unpleasant symptoms typical of the disease or treatment, deteriorating the patient's perception of quality of life. The average quality of life was poor and was associated with socio-demographic characteristics.
