The present work was developed in the Administrative Units and Faculties of the National University of the Peruvian Amazon, which is located within the urban and peri-urban area of the city of Iquitos, where they develop their teaching and learning activities. The objective of the present study was to elaborate a study of the type of solid waste generated in the Administrative Units, Faculties and Classrooms of the National University of the Peruvian Amazon. The collection of the residues in their faculties are realized through plastic buckets and plastic bags with 43 and 55% respectively; Indicate that if there is a cleaning service in their faculties, although this are deficient, but in the end somehow fulfills its function. Regarding segregation in the vast majority (73%) if done, compared to a small group in each faculty they indicate that if they do it through study groups but that this is not constant (27%). Based on the generation per capita in each of the faculties, it was determined that the generation in the 7 days of evaluation for the faculty of dentistry was 0.018 Kg / Est. / Day; For the medical school was 0.0012 Kg / Est. / Day; And for the faculty of chemistry 0.0014 Kg./Est./Day. For the density was obtained for the Faculty of medicine A density of 18.27 kg / m3, in the case of the faculty of dentistry a density 118.65 kg / m3 and for the faculty of chemical engineering a density of 28.18 kg / m3 For the physical composition of the residues, it was observed that their quantity is relative in composition, observing that, for the case of the faculty of dentistry is formed by more inorganic residues, that for the time of evaluation an amount of 216 kg in comparison to the faculty of medicine and chemistry where more organic generation was observed; This is based on the type of activity and the nature of the practices that develop in each faculty. The projection per capita for each of the faculties was obtained that for the case of medicine is generated 0.439 Tn / year, Odontology 6.83 Tn / Day and chemical 0.68 Tn / year.
