The objective was to evaluate the association between toxoplasmosis seroprevalence and risk factors: área of residence, maternal age, gestational age, parity, level of education, contact with cats, consumption of half-cooked meat, consumption of untreated water and consumption of untreated vegetables, in pregnant women of the District of San Juan – of the city of Iquitos during the year 2018. The method was quantitative and the design was not experimental, correlational and epidemiological. The population was 1708 pregnant women, of all ages who attended their prenatal control in the San Juan District establishments, the sample was 314. The techniques used were the interview, observation and Elisa’s technique as a method. Of toxoplasmosis diagnosis. The instrument was the questionnaire. The results regarding Toxoplasma infection was diagnosed with serological methods (specific immunoglobulin IgM and IgM). Regarding IgG, 303 (96.5%) were positive, while 11 (3.5%) were negative. In IgM 312 (99.4%) they were negative, while 2 (0.6%) were positive. No significant statistical association of IgG was found with the risk factors studied. A significant statistical association was found with the following risk factors: residence (p = 0.000); gestational age (p = 0.015) and untreated water consumption (p = 0.012), no statistically significant association was found with the following risk factors: Maternal age (p = 0.058); Parity (p = 0.343); Educational level (p = 0.343), Coexistence with cats (p = 0.255); Pre-cooked meat consumption (p = 0.091), and unwashed vegetable consumption (p = 0.261). In conclusion, according to the IgM, there are three risk factors associated with toxoplasmosis, these are residence, gestational age and consumption of untreated water.
