The objective of this research was to determine the severity of dental caries in relation to the socioeconomic level in children 10 to 12 years of age of the Inca Manko Kali Educational Institution, Iquitos 2018. The type of study was quantitative, not designed experimental, correlational, transversal. The sample consisted of 167 stratified children (10 years = 59 children, 11 years = 53 children and 12 years = 55 children). The results show: In relation to age, 35.3% are 10 years old, 31.7% are 11 years old and 32.9% are 12 years old. In relation to sex, 48.5% male and 51.5% female. In relation to the level of education, 34.7% are from the 1st year of secondary school, 24% from the sixth year of primary school, 23.4% from the 5th year of primary school and 18% from the 4th year of primary school. The CPOD index of children aged 10 to 12 years was 1.92. The prevalence of dental caries was 67.7%. In relation to the severity of dental caries, 75.4% had low severity, 15.6% had moderate severity and 9% had high severity. In relation to the socioeconomic level, 46.7% were higher NSE, 43.1% were lower NSE, 9% were NSE Medium and 1.2% were marginal NSE. There is a statistically significant association between the variables sex and severity of dental caries (p = 0.014). Conclusion: It is concluded that there is a statistically significant association between the severity variables of dental caries and socioeconomic level (p = 0.014) of children of the Inca Manko Kali Educational Institution.
