The objective of this research work is to make known the description and subsequently to find the link between the variables. In this way, the study can be used by future researchers as theoretical support, since today the motivation in students has decreased due to confinement due to covid-19, the study is also awakening interest in knowing the motivation in a sample. of students and thereby seek the link with respect to academic performance in students, which is essential for educational work, since it is necessary to know the reason for the various problems in our students. Social skills are understood as social behaviors that contribute to efficiency in the execution of interpersonal tasks, and may include communication, empathy, civility, academic behaviors, among many others. They are linked to continuous learning thinking, social skills presuppose the permanent development of the individual's behavioral repertoire, in different contexts, since, at each stage of human development, new social demands are proposed. In human development, the student would have the family and school contexts as a direct and/or indirect example to learn and develop their behavioral repertoire. The interactions between the student and educational agents – in this case, parents and/or guardians and teachers, would gradually evolve, in the insertion of the child into other social contexts. The context in which the student lives can influence her behavior both positively and negatively, it can promote both social skills and facilitate the appearance of behavioral problems. The authors also point out the relevance of offering interventions in the context that help the development of social skills and help teachers' educational practices, for better learning.
