The objective of the research was to establish the relationship between emotional intelligence and study habits in students in 3rd grade of the Cesar Vallejo Public Educational Institution of the San Juan de Lurigancho district in the academic year 2018. The approach was quantitative, type of basic descriptive research, of the research design is non-experimental correlational level and transactional design type. The technique used was psychometric and the instruments used for data collection were the test of knowing my emotions and the inventory of CASM study habits, where each one's achievements are established through indicators. The population was made up of 75 students from 3rd year of secondary school of the Public Educational Institutions "Cesar Vallejo" of the district of San Juan de Lurigancho. The validity of the instruments was given by experts. The reliability of the variables was given by Cronbach's alpha, emotional intelligence was 0.89, and the study habits was 829. The inferential analysis according to the Spearman r test applied to the variable emotional intelligence and study habits obtained a p-value of 0.012 being less than 0.05, which is why we accept the alternative hypothesis, therefore, there is statistical evidence to state that Emotional intelligence has a significant correlation with study habits.
