The objective of this research work was the purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between reading strategies online and the level of reading comprehension in English of students in fifth grade of high school of the Ricardo Palma school, district of Ate, Lima. the ability to read contributes significantly to other English language skills; in this way improves proficiency in that language. During the Covid-19 pandemic, students of public schools in Peru had to adapt to a virtual environment and use frequently WhatsApp. To develop your level of reading comprehension in English, the students had to apply the strategies learned during class or those that they created themselves using online resources when necessary. considering the above, we carried out an investigation with a quantitative approach of a descriptive type. In addition, we used a correlational design with a descriptive method. The population and the The sample consisted of 123 students of the English course who belong to the fifth year of high school. Questionnaires and comprehension tests of reading in English by WhatsApp after they were validated by expert judges. Then After testing the hypothesis, we conclude that online reading strategies have a very low positive relationship with the level of reading comprehension in English of the fifth grade high school students from the Ricardo Palma school. Therefore, there is no a significant relationship between these two variables.
