The objective of this research work is about the relationship between teaching performance and the academic performance of accounting students at the Instituto Superior Tecnológico Público Bellavista in 2017. The teaching performance is based on the approaches of Delannoy (2001), Cerda (2003), Dressler (1996), Mondy and Noe (1997) and academic performance supported by the Ministry of Education (2007). This allowed us to raise the hypothesis: There is a significant relationship between teaching performance and the academic performance of Accounting students at the Public Technological Higher Education Institute of Bellavista in 2017. The research design was descriptive, correlational. The sample was made up of 73 accounting students. When the hypothesis was tested, it was obtained that teaching performance related to academic performance obtained a value of tc = 8.549, which is greater than tt = 1.666; and the relationship between teaching performance and academic performance is strong (r = 0.622). In the dimensions of teaching performance in relation to academic performance, it was obtained that the relationship between the personal development dimension and academic performance is significant (r = 0.494); social development with academic performance is significant (r = 0.525); and professional development with academic performance is significant (r = 0.483).
