The thesis Methods of demonstration in the learning of Algebra I in students of the Specialty of Mathematics and Informatics of the Faculty of Sciences in the National University of Education Enrique Guzmán y Valle, 2017. It was aimed at determining what effects the demonstration methods have on the learning of Algebra I. Research approach is quantitative of the applied type. The design is experimental of quasi-experimental study. The study population consisted of 60 students (30 control group and 30 experimental group). The technique used was a survey and the instrument test (pretest and postest). The validity by trial of experts is 88 % and the reliability with Kuder-Richardson KR20, result 0,80 (pretest) and 0,88 (postest) which indicates excellent reliability. The results in the postest indicate a difference of averages of more than 5 points in favor of the experimental group, that is, the average of grades was significant in all the learning dimensions of Algebra I. According to the Mann Whitney U test and the test extreme reactions of Moses, the value of significance is less than 0,05 then the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted, that is to say there is statistical evidence to affirm that the application of demonstration methods have significant effects on the learning of Algebra I in students of the specialty of mathematics and computer science of the Faculty of Sciences at the National University of Education Enrique Guzmán y Valle, 2017.
