The objective of this research work was to study how problem-based learning is related to the development of investigative skills in students of the professional school of education of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. The sample consisted of 220 students, the sampling used is probabilistic, stratified. The development of the statistical analysis was carried out through SPPS version 25. The results were analyzed at the descriptive level, where statistical tables and graphs have been worked to summarize the information and at the inferential level non-parametric statistics have been used. and as such Spearman's Rho has been used at a level of 0.05, given that the data do not have a normal distribution. The results indicate that problem-based learning and investigative competencies are predominantly expressed at a medium level. Likewise, it is demonstrated that there is a direct, moderate and significant correlation between the investigated variables, problem-based learning and research competencies in the study sample.
