The objective of this research work is to determine the relationship between teaching strategies of reading comprehension and the level of comprehension of texts written in English in students of the fifth grade of secondary school of the CEA-UNE Enrique Guzmán y Valle. The investigation carried out was of a quantitative approach, of a non-experimental type, the method was descriptive and the correlational design. The sample was 90 students. The survey technique was used and as instruments the questionnaire and a written evaluation of comprehension of texts in English. These instruments were validated by expert judgment and for reliability Cronbach's Alpha formula was used, achieving a reliability of 0.893 for the first variable strategy teachers of reading comprehension and 0.791 for the second Variable level of comprehension of texts written in English. After applying the instruments, the statistical work was carried out. For the hypothesis test, the Spearman's correlation of 0.703, represents a high positive correlation. Finally I know concludes that the teaching strategies of reading comprehension are related significantly with the level of comprehension of written texts in English in students of the fifth grade of secondary school of the CEA-UNE Enrique Guzmán y Valle.
