The objective of this research work is to demonstrate if there is the influence of symbolic games on the learning of mathematics by students in the first grade of secondary education; The aim is to understand the level of relationship and the main characteristics between symbolic games and mathematical learning. For this purpose, quantitative research was adopted as a methodology, at a correlational descriptive level, with a non-experimental design, and with the hypothetical-deductive method. The population was made up of 89 students distributed in three classrooms; The sample was non-probabilistic, it was intentional and a classroom of 29 students was considered. Bibliographic consultations were carried out on numerous research works that investigated the topic, so that the importance of play in the mathematical learning process within child development could be known. After carrying out the respective calculations, it is concluded that symbolic games significantly influence the learning of mathematics by students in the first grade of secondary education.
