The general objective of the research was to determine the relationship between motivation and the development of mathematical notions in children of 5 years of Initial Education of the Educational Institution No. 110 of Ventanilla, 2020. The population consisted of 60 children. The method used was the hypothetical-deductive, the purpose was the non-experimental design of a cross-sectional correlational level; The information was collected in a specific period, the virtual observation technique and the data collection instrument were developed, it was an observation card that was used to collect information from the children. Cronbach's alpha was used for the reliability of the instrument. that was high in both variables: 0.801 for the motivation variable and 0.837 for the mathematical notions variable. For the descriptive analysis, tables of frequency distribution and the bar graph were made. And for the recruitment of the hypothesis was carried out by Rho de Spearman. The research concluded that there is a good correlation (Rh0 = 0.777) between motivation and the development of mathematical notions in children of 5 years of Initial Education of the Educational Institution No. 110 of Ventanilla, 2020. Being pvalue = 0.000 <0.05 ; which indicates that there is a correlation. This confirmed the hypothesis and the general objective of the study.
