In Peru, over the last twenty years, unlike positive discipline, emotional intelligence has been studied at all educational levels. Positive discipline is a new approach, which is just awakening the interest of researchers. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between positive discipline and emotional intelligence in elementary school students at Pedro Celestino Kochatzin de la Cruz School. The sample consisted of 43 students of both sexes, between 7 and 11 years old. The approach is quantitative. The type of research is basic. The design is non-experimental, cross-sectional and it has a descriptive-correlational scope. The instruments used were two questionnaires, one on the level positive discipline the students were exposed to and the other on their level of emotional intelligence. The results indicated that almost half (48.8%) of the students were exposed to low levels of positive discipline and a similar number (48.8%) had poor emotional intelligence. Through statistical analyses with a confidence level of 95%, it was determined that there is a significant relationship between positive discipline and emotional intelligence in elementary school students at Pedro Celestino Kochatzin de la Cruz school. Therefore, it was concluded that the positive discipline exercised by parents and teachers, influences the development of children's emotional intelligence.
