The objective of this research work is the quantitative and quasi-experimental approach. The type of study corresponded to the basic and explanatory; the method used was the hypothetical-deductive with a quasi-experimental design; It was developed with two sample groups: a control group (with 13 students) and an experimental group (with 13 students); used the test as a technique, in addition to the pretest and posttest as data collection instruments. The validity of the instrument was in charge of three experts and the reliability was determined by means of a pilot test. To demonstrate the hypothesis, the Mann-Whitney U test was used; entry tests on learning resulted in: p = 0.004 calculated, less than p = 0.005 tabulated; which means that before the application of the experiment there was a slight difference between the control group and the experimental group. Exit tests on student learning resulted in p = 0.000 calculated, less than 0.005 tabulated; which allows rejecting the null hypothesis and accepting the research hypothesis; means that the application of the Chamilo software produced positive effects on student learning about machine maintenance in the specialty of Clothing Technology, 2018.
