Based on theoretical and methodological proposals as well as on empirical research, through the record of cultural evidence in the field, this thesis deals with archaeological sites with Quilcas or rock art as touristic patrimony of Cusco. For the development of this approach, the study has traced the history of Quilcas research in Peru and the Cusco region, proposing from there, theoretical bases for its material compression as a cultural object and as a national heritage with implications in its tourist exploitation. The research made use of an evaluation instrument, suitable for the recognition of the tourist potential of the Quilcas sites of the Machupicchu Archaeological Park, whose intrinsic properties are determined by a specific series of phenomenological categories. All the record and field observations wee analyzed, concluding in the possibility of implementing these sites as a tourist attraction of Cusco, after adaptation through an adequacy work, which include archaeological studies, conservation, consolidation and maintenance of these sites. It is concluded that the archaeological sites with Quilcas constitute an important cultural, artistic and historical heritage of Cusco, whose adaptation in tourist patrimony encourages the social appropriation of these archaeological evidence, which contributes to its conservation, valuation and sustainability over time.
