This thesis reports the research carried out on the influence of teaching professional self-efficacy on the employment involvement or engagement at work of the faculty of the Faculty of Education of a public university of Lima. The stratified sample consisted of 97 teachers, randomly selected using the random number table. Applied type research had a quantitative approach, correlal method, and a cross-cutting, non-experimental design. The Norwegian Scale of Teacher Self-Efficacy (NTSES ) was used as information gathering tools as the Teacher Engagement Scale (ETS ). Its content validity and reliability properties were evaluated, with the Aiken Validity coefficient and cronbach coefficient respectively. The collected data were analyzed with the stan scale, and pearson's parametric correlation coefficient test (r ) for the evaluation of the general hypothesis and specific hypotheses, as well as discerning the statistical significance of the sample results. The results showed the high positive influence of teaching professional self-efficacy on the involvement in the work of the teachers surveyed, as well as a similar influence of the dimensions of teaching self-efficacy (self-efficacy for didactics and self-efficacy to face changes and challenges) on involvement in teaching work. Instead, it was noted that the other dimensions of teacher self-efficacy (self-efficacy for adapting education to individual needs and diversity, self- efficacy for student motivation, self-efficacy to maintain discipline and self-efficacy for cooperation with peers) had a moderate positive influence on the employment involvement of participants in teaching work. The findings proved statistically significant at a probability level of p<0.01.
