The objective of this research work was to design a curricular design model based on competencies for the labor insertion of graduates from the Professional School of Tourism - National University of San Martín. In this way, the study has been based on a quantitative approach, with an explanatory level, of an applied type, with a non-experimental, propositional correlational design. Both the population and the sample have been made up of 50 graduates from the tourism school, to whom the questionnaires have been applied as data collection instruments. Among the main results are that the current competency-based curricular design is 56% deficient while job placement is 1% inadequate. In this way, the author concludes that the implementation of a competency-based curricular design model is expected to have a positive impact on the job placement of graduates from the Professional School of Tourism – National University of San Martín, due to mainly because it responds to current needs in the market; The hypothesis was accepted as a p value of 0.000 was obtained in the Spearman Rho test.
