The objective of this research work is to determine the relationship between social skills and academic performance in students. This study has a quantitative approach, basic research type and descriptive correlational and cross-sectional design. The sequence of the hypothetical deductive method was used and had a population of 50 students. The technique used was the survey and as an instrument two questionnaires of 20 items each and which were submitted to expert judgment for validity and reliability with Cronbach's Alpha, of 100% of the students surveyed, whatever the levels of social skills. that they present, 24% have poor academic performance, 36% average, 20% good and 20% outstanding. The hypothesis test with Chi-square showed a significance of less than 0.05, then it was concluded that there is a significant relationship between social skills and academic performance in students of the Basic Nursing course of the third cycle of the Padre Luis Tezza School of Nursing.
