The objective of this research work is to determine the relationship between the body mass index (BMI) and adiposity measurements in adults who attend the El Despertar Polyclinic. The study followed a quantitative approach, and is descriptive with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational design. The study population was made up of adults who attended the El Despertar Polyclinic. We worked with a non-probabilistic sample made up of a total of 170 people between men and women. The instruments that were used to collect the data of the variables were: Lufkin tape measure, mobile wooden stadiometer, a digital scale and a data collection sheet. The data obtained were statistically processed with Excel and SPSS to calculate the correlation coefficient between the variables through the Spearman and Pearson Rho test. The results showed that between the BMI and the neck circumference a coefficient of: r=0.392 and p value<0.05 was obtained. While with waist circumference: r = 0.596 and p value <0.05. Thus, the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternate one is accepted, concluding that there is a positive relationship between BMI and adiposity measurements in adults who attended the El Despertar Polyclinic.
