Introduction: Oropharyngeal dysphagia is an alteration in the preparation and transfer of the food bolus as a consequence of a stroke. It is important that the professional uses the neuromuscular electrostimulator as a resource when carrying out the treatment with exercises and food intake. Objective: To describe the use of neuromuscular electrostimulation with exercises, and food intake, in an older adult patient with post-strokeoropharyngeal dysphagia, in a private center in Lima, from October to December 2023. Job Description: In the first phase we perform an evaluation of the orofacial complex. In the second phase we apply the use of electrostimulation with exercises to promote the regulation of muscle groups. In the last phase we use electrostimulation with foods of different viscosities and volumes. Main Findings: By using electrostimulation we regulate the muscles, obtaining an adequate laryngeal position, to reestablish the swallowing mechanism that guarantees control of the bolus. Conclusions: The use of neuromuscular electrostimulation with exercises and food intake is used to optimize muscle tone and improve flaccidity. Allowing muscle regulation and laryngeal positioning in each phase, restoring swallowing function.
