There are few studies that evaluate feeding practices in mothers of school-age children in a community in Lima, Peru. Objective: determine the effectiveness of an educational intervention on healthy eating at the level of eating practices of mothers of school-age children in a community in Lima, 2023. Material and method: quantitative approach study, pre-experimental, prospective design. The sample was made up of 33 mothers from the “Villa San Juan” Human Settlement in the San Juan de Miraflores district. The survey was used as a technique, and a pre- and post-educational intervention questionnaire was applied as an instrument through home visits, which contains 20 questions that measure the level of mothers' dietary practices. Results: the level of feeding practices of mothers of school-age children pre-educational intervention showed that only 39.4% obtained an adequate level of feeding practices, while post-educational intervention, 93.9% of mothers managed to obtain an adequate result. Conclusion: the educational intervention on healthy eating practices in mothers of school-age children was effective, evidenced by the significant increase in the average score of eating practices, with a change from 57.79 to 68.61 (p=0.000).
