Objective: To compare the capacity of remineralization and demineralization resistance of human dental enamel after being exposed to three types of fluorides. Materials and methods: 64 blocks of human dental enamel (4x4x3mm) were randomly distributed into 4 groups according to the fluoridated agent: G1: Amine Fluoride gel (1.25% F), G2: Stannous Fluoride gel (0.4% F), G3: Sodium Fluoride gel (2% F) and a group control with artificial Saliva. Each sample was exposed for 3 min to the specific treatment group and then exposed to an in vitro cycling process of demineralization/remineralization (Des/Re), submerged 3 h in demineralizing solution followed by 21 h in remineralizing solution, during 10 days. Vickers microhardness was evaluated before and after exposure to the treatments, and also after the Des/Re process. Results: The Sodium Fluoride group showed higher values of microhardness than the other groups after the Fluoride exposure, amine and stannous Fluoride groups showed than the others. Conclusions: The Sodium Fluoride group showed greater remineralization ability, while the Stannous Fluoride and the Amine Fluoride showed better resistance to demineralization after the Des/Re cycling.
