Background: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Peru implemented teleconsultations as part of its health response. In mid-2022, the international network of researchers QuEST LAC conducted the “The Voice of the People” survey to evaluate the quality of health systems from the perspective of people in several Latin American countries. Objectives: Describe and compare the profile of users and non-users of teleconsultations in Peru using sociodemographic variables, health status, level of activation and patterns of use of the health system. Materials and methods: Analysis of secondary data from the telephone survey “La Voz de la Gente” carried out in Peru. Results: Of 1,255 people, 29.2% used teleconsultations. Its use was related to female sex, having a usual place of care, EsSalud and Health insurance from the Armed Forces and Police, private insurance, poor self-reported health status, residing in cities other than Metropolitan Lima and Callao and rural areas. Conclusions: Being a woman, having health insurance and a usual place of care are associated with greater use of teleconsultations. While less use, those who report a poor state of health, live in rural areas or cities other than Lima and Callao. The study allows us to show the gaps and inequities in health in the context of teleconsultations.
