The present investigation, whose title is Presence of sulfonamides residues in quail eggs from small producers in four districts of Metropolitan Lima. Its objective was to determine the presence of sulfonamide residues in quail eggs collected from small producers in four districts of Metropolitan Lima. The methodology used had a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design; validation parameters were performed in an analytical method, such as: linearity, recovery, precision, quantification limit, detection limit and stability, then the quantification of sulfonamide residues in the samples was performed by means of high performance liquid chromatography with diode array detector (HPLC-DAD). The sample consisted of 168 quail eggs from the four small producers. The results indicate the presence of sulfonamides residues in quail eggs from small producers in four districts of Metropolitan Lima. It was demonstrated that the analytical method was linear, obtained a correlation coefficient higher than 0.98 and a determination coefficient higher than 0.99; it was stable, the concentration of the standards was close to 100%; it was precise, obtained a relative standard deviation lower than 2%; the detection limit was 2.69 μg/Kg for sulfadiazine and 1.30 μg/Kg for sulfamethoxazole; the quantification limit was 8.97 μg/Kg for sulfadiazine and 4.32 μg/Kg for sulfamethoxazole; it was accurate, obtaining recovery percentages within the acceptance criteria of 80% to 110%. The presence of sulfadiazine residues was found in 100% of the samples and sulfamethoxazole residues in 95,83% of the samples; with an average sulfonamide concentration of 2,8 μg/Kg ± 4,7 and the highest concentration was 57,09 μg/Kg for sulfadiazine present in the sample from the district of San Juan de Lurigancho.
