The aim of this report on professional sufficiency was to describe experiences in sterilization campaigns for dogs and cats (companion animals) at Mi Dogtora Veterinary Clinic for the period 2018-2022 in Iquitos City, Loreto Region–Peru. The records of Mi Dogtora Veterinary Clinic were reviewed by collecting information on the age of the owner and the type of species, sex and the age of the companion animal. The information was analyzed by descriptive statistics. A total of 220 records were obtained at all, from which 182 (82.72%) records belonged to male owners and 38 (17.28%) female owners (17.28%). Furthermore, 166 (75.45%) records belonged to dogs (137 males and 29 females) and 54 (24.55%) records belonged to cats (45 males and 9 females). The average age of sterilization was 1 year and 9 months (range: 5 months to 8 years) for dogs and 1 year and 8 months (range: 5 months to 11 years) for cats. This information might be useful to determine the target population of future neutering campaigns and to plan logistical needs that will be required as well as making recommendations to properly implement the law 31311 “sterilization services as part of public health policy.
