Tne company Marinasol SA had the need to increase the processing of samples from its molecular biology laboratory. To achieve this, automated platforms were implemented that had the potential to increase the efficiency of DNA extraction processes and the analisis of these simples using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Training was carried out on knowledge and procedures to be apllied in the new automated platforms and the implementation of new automated processes was carried out. As a result of this implementation, the laboratory was able to significantly increase the efficiency of the DNA extraction process to process up to 768 samples in 220 minutes and the efficiency of the PCR process to process up to 768 samples in a single 120 minutes run by using automated platforms. The constant use of automated platforms is recommended to increase the number of samples processed and reduce processing times and, in turn, reduce the probability of routine errors.
