The interest of this work was to determine the relationship between the use of social networks and academic procrastination in students of a private university in Metropolitan Lima. The research is basic and has a correlational approach. The sample was made up of 214 university students, 135 females and 79 males, aged 18 years or older. Two instruments were used, the Academic Procrastination Scale (EPA) and the Social Network Addiction Questionnaire - Short Version (ARS-6). The results demonstrated a low correlation between the use social of networks and academic procrastination (rho = .325). When analyzing the descriptive results, it was identified that 66.4% of students have a low level of use of social networks and likewise 54.7% have a low level of academic procrastination. In addition, the inferential results were analyzed, where a low negative correlation was identified between the use of social networks and the academic self-regulation dimension (-.290) and a low correlation between the use of social networks and the procrastination of activities dimension (rho = .320). Finally, a comparison was made according to sex, it was found that there is no significant difference in the use social networks, while a significant difference was identified in the academic procrastination variable.
