The purpose of the work was to determine whether the use of the ART class session model employing Classroom, contributes to the achievement of problem-solving competence in Basic Mathematics students at a University of Lima, the ARTE session model is based on Kolb's experiential learning cycle, which describes how people learn through experience, with its acronym representing Act, Reflect, Theorize, and Experiment (ARTE), considered as the moments of the class session, in addition in the last two moments of each session, the Pólya method for problem-solving is applied, including stages of understanding, devising a plan, implementing the plan, and evaluating the plan, all these class sessions programs are implemented through Google Classroom, which is a freely accessible learning management platform; the study was applied, experimental, and pre-experimental in design, a single group of students from the first cycle of Mathematical Sciences - Operational Research at UNMSM. A probabilistic and simple random sampling technique was considered, with the participation of 48 students. On the other hand, the results of the normality test, both in the pretest and post-test (p < .05), indicate that the distribution of grades does not follow a normal pattern. Therefore, non-parametric tests were conducted to verify if there are differences between the means. The Wilcoxon rank test showed that, in each of the stages of the Pólya method, there is an improvement since the post-test scores are better than those of the pre-test. The data processing was carried out in the SPSS software version 25. Therefore, it can be affirmed that the ARTE model contributes to the achievement of problem-solving competency, as a significant improvement is evident.
