Adolescence is a crucial period where habits and styles are acquired that may or may not be healthy; At this stage of life, people are very vulnerable to changes, uncertainty, social prejudices and behaviors. Objective: to characterize of the teenager’s lifestyles from first to fifth grade at the high school of a rural zone in Lima. Material and methods: quantitative, cross-sectional research with a descriptive design; 47 students from the first to fifth year of high school participated; the instrument used was the “Lifestyle Scale for teenegers” which evaluates the following dimensions: diet, physical activity, emotional state, social relationships, drug addiction and health, through 40 questions and was validated in Mexico. Results: 66% of the participants demonstrated maintaining a moderately healthy lifestyle. However, it is crucial to highlight that the dimensions of physical activity and sexuality revealed morbid behaviors in 53.2% and 83.0%, respectively. Conclusion: the findings underline the urgent need to comprehensively address health in this group, a level of moderately healthy lifestyles is observed in adolescents aged 12 to 17 years, but the significant presence of unhealthy behaviors highlights the importance of implementing comprehensive health programs specifically designed for adolescents who belong to rural environments.
