This study aimed to develop an agent-based simulation model to examine the population dynamics of the Ctenocephalides felis flea under different environmental conditions. This is a systematization of experience that describes the development of a simulation tool using the NetLogo software. The model design considered the different stages of the flea's life cycle, including egg, larva, pupa, nymph, adult, and the interactions between these stages and the environment. The main results show that, without a control strategy, flea populations persist over time, reaching maximum levels during the first oscillation of their graph, and that the host's carrying capacity for the adult population is exceeded after day 80. Furthermore, it is established that the percentage of adult fleas and nymphs in relation to the total population remains within a range between 1.7% and 5.7% after achieving stability in the system. In conclusion, this model provides a useful tool for understanding and predicting flea population dynamics, and can be adapted to include different control strategies and environmental conditions.
