Introduction: Odontogenic tumors (OT) are neoplasms that manifest in the jaws and are formed from epithelial and/or mesenchymal tissue that occurs in odontogenesis, some of them do not become true neoplasms, but alterations of one of the stages of odontogenesis. The diagnosis is made by histopathological examination and in some cases complemented by clinical and/or imaging examinations. Treatments can be conservative and/or aggressive for each type of tumor. Objective: Determine the frequency of diagnosis and treatment of benign odontogenic tumors in patients who attended the Centro Dental Docente Cayetano Heredia between the years 2015-2019. Materials and Methods: Observational and cross-sectional study. Results: 242 cases of benign odontogenic tumors were reported. Among the most frequent lesions we obtained Odontoma (86, 35.54%), followed by Ameloblastoma (81, 33.47%), and Odontogenic Myxoma/Myxofibroma (36, 14.88%). The age range in which they occurred was 19-26 years (80, 33.05%). The female sex showed a greater predilection with 54.55%, and the most affected anatomical area was the mandible (107, 44.21%), mainly in the mandibular body. Conclusions: In this study we found Odontoma, among all the benign odontogenic tumors, as the most frequent tumor with a higher prevalence in the female sex, in the range of 19-26 years, the most affected anatomical area was the mandibular body and the most frequent treatment was aggressive.
