The objective of the study was to know the relationship between teacher self-efficacy and the personal and professional variables of the faculty of a private university located in Lima. Regarding the methodology, the level of the research was descriptive correlational, the quantitative approach and the non-experimental design. The Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale of university professors and a Data Questionnaire were applied to collect information on the variables of the study. The sampling was incidental non-probabilistic, forming a sample of 112 teachers representing 49% of the population. The scale was revised, making an evaluation of its content validity, yielding values of interjudgement agreement by V of Aiken considered as very good. Likewise, a high reliability was obtained by Cronbach's alpha in the total scale (.971) and in each of the dimensions of the construct, with values between .89 and .92. To establish the relationship between personal/professional variables and teacher self-efficacy, the chi-square coefficient, the Spearman's Rho statistic and the point biserial correlation were applied, finding correlations of very low, low and moderate strength, according to the Cohen classification. In reference to the personal variables (sex, age and marital status) it is found that women, teachers who are older and married, are those who have more teacher self-efficacy. Among the many professional variables, two stand out for having obtained moderate correlations with self-efficacy. Thus, for the postgraduate variable, teachers who have mastery are the most self-effective. The same happens with those who teach in the Professional School of Education. Finally, it was concluded that the university professors of the sample do not have the same teaching self-efficacy in the four dimensions of the construct.
