The objective of this research is to analyze stress and anxiety in the context of the COVID-19. For the collection of information, databases from Scielo, Pubmed, Redalyc, Dialnet, Scopus, as well as google academic were used. 44 articles were selected by inclusion and exclusion criteria. The type of research design was a systematic review that included the collection of randomized and non-randomized research, qualitative and quantitative designs. It is evident that women presented higher levels of anxiety and stress compared to men, likewise, the literary production of this review showed that mental health professionals and university students were one of the population groups most affected by the pandemic that showed high levels of stress and anxiety. On the other hand, those factors that help to reduce, prevent or avoid these high levels were identified, such as establishing healthy habits, reinforcing resilience. In addition, risk factors were also identified, such as having a chronic disease, excess information through news channels, social networks, etc., work overload and being in the first or last years of study. In conclusion, it is suggested that researchers broaden the search with studies from different countries and other databases that have not been used in the systematic review, so that they can obtain a broader knowledge on the subject. Likewise, it is recommended that a mental health plan be established taking into account the protective and risk factors found in this review.
