Introduction: Until now there is no consensus on the cementation protocol for crowns on implants, so it is necessary to continue investigating the different materials for manufacturing crowns and cements, and their resistance in environments that simulate masticatory forces. Thematic development: A syllabus, the review of a research article and the research project were prepared. Conclusions: The university teaching module establishes scientific bases for the structured elaboration of the syllabus of the crowns on implants course. In the critical analysis of literature, it helps to recognize if a research article is well prepared or has deficiencies, using the CASP. The research project developed aims to find a temporary cement that is resistant to the forces of chewing and can also remain in the mouth for long periods of time after which it can be removed for maintenance.
