Introduction: Metallic alloys continue to be widely used in our environment due to their cost and good structural resistance; Cutting and welding are techniques used to improve seating and passive adjustment, so it is necessary to study the implications of the space to be welded and the type of cut. Through this portfolio, the strategies of a course were analyzed through the development of the syllabus, the structured analysis of a study and a research project. Thematic development: A syllabus, a critical analysis of literature and an in vitro research project were developed to compare the tensile strength of Ni Cr bars welded by laser and torch with different width and type of cut. Conclusions: The development of the aforementioned works will allow, through the syllabus, to have a tool that will facilitate student learning and the teaching process, the analysis of the review study allows us to evaluate and verify the quality of the article and its content, and finally the research project will allow us to choose the type of cut and sectioning space according to the type of welding, either by torch or laser.
