The present research is Descriptive-Exploratory, of secondary source (Population and Housing Census 2010), it aims to identify the socio-demographic and economic patterns, associated with the geographic trends of recent migration, as well as to measure its effects on the main indicators: demographic, educational and economic. In Ecuador, the number of people aged 5 years and older who migrated in the last five years (with respect to the time of the census) increased by 54,910 between the 2001 and 2010 census, as well as the population receiving provinces (attractive) increased from 9/22 to 12/24 respectively, and half of the immigrants went from being concentrated in 2 provinces in 2001 to 4 provinces in 2010. According to the 2010 census, there are 12 attractive provinces and 12 expelling provinces. For each province, a comparative analysis of the main demographic, educational and economic indicators is presented, dividing the population into three groups: total residents, migrants (immigrants and emigrants) and non-migrants. In general, it is evident that immigration increases the values of masculinity, schooling, higher education and unemployment in the attractive provinces, while it increases the values of the other indicators (average age, illiteracy and demographic dependence) in the expelling provinces. Finally, using the Logit (explanatory) model for the population arriving in the attractive provinces, 8 census variables associated with the decision to migrate were defined: P01, P02, P03, P11L, P16, P23, P27, P34.
