Technology and digitization provide endless opportunities for development, especially in infants and adolescents; however, being a platform where anonymity is easily provided, it has the potential for malpractice and leaves them vulnerable to cybercrimes such as grooming, which consists of recruiting minors through virtual platforms that use relationship and emotional control. as means to obtain sexual content, where the protagonists are adults, involved in sexual proceedings, either inside or outside cyberspace. It is known that it represents a danger to the comprehensive safety of children and adolescents, which causes great impacts in different areas of the victim, especially in mental health and psychological well-being. Currently, in Latin America and Spain, research on grooming has aroused great interest, both among the scientific community and in society in general in view of the increase in registered victims in the last decade, and above all, in the significant consequences that have been registered, which could lead to psychological and physiological problems, where if there is no correct coping, they can extend into adulthood. Therefore, this documentary research was developed, which aims to know the current state of research on grooming and analyze the theoretical and empirical information on mental health indicators in victims after grooming experiences in children and adolescents between the years 2013-2023, through a documentary review in research platforms within Latin America and Spain. A documentary-type study was carried out, since the main purpose is to increase knowledge about the phenomenon and its effects, analyzing quantitative, qualitative, correlational, systematic and state-of-the-art research that has been published within the last 10 years, where topics on the conceptualization of the grooming phenomenon, risk factors that influence victimization, both personal and external, and mental health indicators in grooming victims were addressed. Through the analysis of this research, it was possible to establish four points of relevance that make up the study: conceptualization of grooming itself, the personal variables that predispose children and adolescents to be victims of grooming, external risk factors that influence victimization and mental health indicators after grooming experiences in children and adolescents.
