Accidents in the workplace are the second most frequent cause of death worldwide. Statistics show that the construction sector is among those with the highest rate of accidents and deaths due to the exposure of workers to unsafe conditions. On the other hand, there are also unsafe acts derived from risk behaviors generated by workers, called human errors. In this regard, this research seeks to present a model that helps companies in the construction sector predict unsafe behaviors that can cause accidents at work. This model is based on the worker's years of experience, values at work and psychosocial risks. To achieve it a representative sample of 209 workers corresponding to the Civil Works area of an infrastructure project was used. The research is retrospective with a predictive scope, with a multivariate correlational design, for data analysis the smartPLS program was used. The information obtained prove that the predictive model based on the worker's years of experience, values at work and psychosocial risks explains 41.4% of the variance of scores of the unsafe behaviors that could generate occupational accidents during the execution of an infrastructure project. In this regard, we could affirm that the variable years of worker experience substantially predicts unsafe behaviors that can cause work accidents and this prediction is substantial since the mediating variables that are part of the study intervene. Likewise and as a contribution, the real unsafe behaviors that can be predicted and thus prevented are described.
