Objectives: The purpose of this study is to define the effect of concentration and time of hidrofluoric acid (HF) application on the bond strength in lithium disilicate ceramics (LS2). Methods: Seventy-two disks of lithium disilicate e.max Press (Ivoclar Vivadent) of 15 mm diameter and 1mm thickness were made. The discs were divided into 9 groups (n = 8) according to their application form, one half manufacturer application time M5%, M9% and M10%, manufacture application time F5%, F9% and F10%, double manufacturer application time, D5%, D9% and D10%. The same adhesion process was used to place 4 cylinder of resin cement, bond strength test was made in a universal test machine Results: The results of the media and the standard deviation showed the highest value for HF 9% acid and double manufacturer time (12.26 Mpa +/- 3.61). (P = 0.01) and 9% (p = 0.01), evidencing a significant influence on the application time of HF over bond strength. The Post Hoc Tukey test to evaluate the times established at each concentration, demonstrating that double manufacturer application time in the HF 9% acid group, increased bond strength significantly compared to half application time and manufacturer recommended application time (p <0.05). The evaluation of the concentration variable at each time, HF9% acid obtained the highest value of bond strength in the 3 evaluated times, with a statistically significant difference on HF 5% acid and HF 10% acid (p <0.05). Conclusions: Double manufacturer application time HF 9% acid significantly increases the bond strength in LS2 ceramic. There was no bond strength improvement in LS2 ceramic when the application time was increased for HF 5% and HF 10% acid.
