Background: In a transversal study about the problems in oral health carried out in Peru in 2017 indicates a high level regarding the prevalence of diseases of the oral cavity, being one of the most important, Dental Caries. Objectives: Determine the knowledge and practices of preventive measures in oral health in students of the Faculty of Stomatology of the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia, Lima-Peru, 2021. Methods: The study design was a cross-sectional, observational, descriptive and prospective model. The variables used were knowledge and practices of preventive measures in oral health, age, sex, district of residence, year of studies and clinical courses enrolled. It was carried out through surveys with the Google Forms application in all students from 2nd to 5th year enrolled in the 2021 semester. Results: The 100% (n=102) of the participants agree that the risk of periodontal disease manifestation increases when smoking. The 47.06% (n=48) where the participants always recommend the use of hygienic attachments. Regarding the variable age, a statistical difference was found (p=0.007) in the students of the Faculty of Stomatology, with respect to the variable year of studies and clinical courses enrolled no statistically significant difference was found (p< 0.001). Conclusions: The knowledge and practices of preventive measures in oral health are generalized in students of the Faculty of Stomatology of the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia, Lima-Peru, 2021.
