Aging is associated with an increase in chronic diseases in the elderly. It is unavoidable to adopt measures that satisfy their health requirements, among them, those that afflict the oral organ. However, there are multiple reasons why dental treatments do not comply. Objective: To determine the association between compliance with dental treatment and the number of chronic diseases in older adults treated in the Stomatology Service for Special Patients of the Teaching Dental Center of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, 2016-2019. Materials and methods: Analytical, retrospective, analytical, cross-sectional descriptive study. The population was made up of medical records of older adults from the Special Patients Stomatology service from 2016 to 2019 who met the selection criteria. Subsequently, the data was collected, the statistical analysis plan was processed and executed. Results: There is no association between compliance with dental treatment and chronic diseases. However, there is an association between compliance with dental treatment and the number of chronic diseases if there are more than 4 diseases considering the variables compliance with appointments, time until the last appointment, pharmacological treatment, origin, occupation, level of education, sex and age (PR=0.93; RPa=0.76a; 95% CI: 0.59-0.98; P<0.039). Conclusion: There is no association between compliance with dental treatment and the number of diseases if only both variables are evaluated. However, if there is an association if we also take into account other factors such as appointment compliance, time until the last appointment, pharmacological treatment, origin, occupation, level of education, sex and age.
